Once seen as immune to economic slowdowns, the online advertising sector has now become the downturn’s latest victim. In August, New York City-based eMarketer predicted that online advertising would grow by 14.5 percent in 2009. Based on new data, the firm now says that it will grow by only 8.9 percent in 2009.
